The 24-month Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) contract for the four-laning of the 26.7-km Kazhakuttam-Mukkola stretch of the NH 66 bypass has come into effect with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) awarding the work to the Hyderabad-based KNR Constructions Ltd (KNCL).

The EPC contract has come into effect with the NHAI’s ‘Appointment date’ and Site Inventory with the KNCL on June 12, an NHAI. The EPC agreement between the NHAI and the KNCL for the much-delayed four-laning was signed on May.

The officials of the KNCL are already in the capital for commencing the work. The EPC contractor is looking for suitable location adjacent to the NH 66 bypass for setting up the yard and other ancillary facilities. “The work is expected to commence in the next one month.
