Corporation (NMC) has floated e-tenders for the maintenance of 11 gardens for one year by private contractors.

The gardens department has floated the annual contract for the garden located in prabhag 15 of the Nashik-West division of the city.

The e-tenders have been invited from private agencies with knowledge and experience about gardens. Those applying for the tenders have to purchase digital signature key from the corporation`s official company, Dhavangale Infotech, (e-tender sale). The applicants have to upload their documents on the corporation`s official website along with the tender forms.

"These 11 gardens were not given to anyone for maintenance in prabhag 15. That is why we have floated the e-tender for these gardens from people having experience in this field. The other gardens have been given for maintenance to some society, self-help groups," said B T Katare, gardens inspector, West Division.

The eligibility criteria of having qualifications from agricultural branch, gardens branch or forest science has been relaxed. But the agency should have experience in gardens development and maintenance in semi-government organizations. It should be able to provide the proof of the same.

The documents have to be uploaded along with the tender form. The applicant will have to pay Rs 2,000 as deposit besides the cost of the e-tender form that is Rs 397.

The online forms are available from May 6 to May 30. They have to be submitted before 3 pm on May 31 and these will be opened on June 1 after 3 pm at the office of the gardens superintendent at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan.

"The gardens have to be given to a private agency for regular maintenance as we don`t have sufficient staff for the purpose," said an official.
