The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has commenced steps to procure 7000 fool-proof and highly secure electronic ticketing machines (ETMs). This is to facilitate proper management of depot operation from the head office, automation of ticket issue, and revenue reconciliation.

The new-generation ETMs can, apart from issuing tickets to those travelling by buses, auto generate MIS for effective monitoring and decision-making, help curb pilferage of fleet revenue, facilitate an accurate accounting system, and generate required reports. The ETMs can also feed information to allow good planning of schedules and cater to the needs of passengers.
