McDermott wins contracts for Marjan field in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Aramco has awarded a contract worth between $500m and $750m to McDermott International to provide engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) services in the Marjan field, offshore Saudi Arabia. Under the contract, McDermott will provide the design, procurement, fabrication, and installation, testing services for the field.
The company will also be responsible for pre-commissioning of the TP-10 tie-in platform, six gas lift topside modules and associated pipeline and subsea cables. The structures will have a total weight of more than 29,000 short tons and pipelines will exceed 65km. McDermott International Middle East and North Africa senior vice-president Linh Austin said: “This award demonstrates the strong market appeal.
McDermott also won a contract valued between $50 and $250m, which includes the full suite of EPCI services for the upgrade of two existing platforms at Marjan. This contract is related to the installation of associated equipment for electrical submersible pumps (ESPs) and space for a future high integrity pressure protection system (HIPPS), subsea composite cable lay and topside cable tie-ins. McDermott will execute the fabrication work on the project from its Jebel Ali yard located in Dubai and Dammam yard in Saudi Arabia. The engineering work for the Marjan project will be executed from both Dubai and the Al Khobar office.
