VMC given nod to float tenders for metro work

The State Government has given administrative sanction to the processing of tenders by Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) for taking up infrastructure work needed to divert traffic in the metro railway alignment areas. The VMC has been allowed to meet the expenditure pegged at Rs. 152 crore, by raising a loan from financial institutions such as Hudco for which the government will extend sovereign guarantee.
The work is a road under HT power line passing in front of Aayush Hospital from Pantakaluva to Ramavarappadu ring (Rs. 35 crore), road connecting Bandar Road to skew bridge via Yanamalakuduru donka road (Rs. 10 crore), road from Mahanadu Road to Bellamvari street NH point (Rs. 6 crore), three bridges crossing Bandar Canal at Yanamalakuduru donka, Ramalingeswara Nagar near Gulzar bridge and YVR Hospital Road (Rs. 30 crore), two limited height sub-ways at Vambay Colony (Rs. 12 crore), four canal – crossing bridges at the police control and Kalakshetram (Rs. 44 crore) and a bridge at Alankar theatre (Rs. 15 crore).
