The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has invited tenders for executing civil work on Namma Metro line between RV Road and HSR Layout Metro Stations.
With this, the work on Phase II which will connect R V Road and Bommasandra is expected to begin in the next three to four months. The project on the 6.34-km stretch includes construction of five stations - Central Silk Board, BTM Layout, Jayadeva Hospital, Ragigudda and R V Road.
It will also include construction of elevated structures, viaducts, a road-cum-rail flyover bridge and road-widening work, wherever necessary. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 820 crore.
BMRCL will soon invite tenders for the demolition of the Marenahalli flyover at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research junction, an official said.
A road-cum-rail flyover bridge will come in place of the existing flyover. Earlier, BMRCL had invited two separate tenders on the same stretch. The civil work is being taken up in three packages and the construction work is expected to be completed in two to three years.
Under Metro second phase work, BMRCL has already taken up civil work on Mysuru Road-Kengeri stretch as well as Yelachenahalli-Kanakapura Road stretch. A few weeks ago, BMRCL had invited bids for civil works on Baiyyappanahalli-Whitefield and Nagasandra-Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre stretch. Other than these, the Gottiere-Nagawara line work has not seen much progress.
