e-tenders floated for two Smart City projects

Ludhiana Smart City Limited (LSCL) has floated e-tenders for the first two important projects under the Smart City mission here. The tenders have been floated for installation of sign boards and construction of public toilets at various locations in the city. The bidders can apply online by October 21. Technical bids will be opened on October 24.

The consultant company, AECOM India Private Limited, along with Price water housecoopers Private Limited, has prepared detailed project reports for both projects. The total cost of the first phase of installation of sign boards is Rs 4.41 crore and estimated cost of construction of public toilets is Rs 4.07 crore after their technical verification.

In the first phase, 84 sign boards (in different shapes and sizes) are to be installed on the main and internal roads of the city. Meanwhile, public toilets are to be constructed at 21 locations, including Bharat Nagar Chowk, in front of the Mini-Secretariat, Police Commissioner’s office, DC Office, Feroze Gandhi Market, in front of Aarti Cinema, Aggar Nagar bus stand, Gill Chowk, Adjoining Gill Canal, Dholewal Chowk, Samrala Chowk, near Jamalpur Chowk, opposite Veer Palace on Chandigarh Road, near Durga Mata Mandir, Kitchlu Nagar Market, Ghumar Mandi Market, opposite DMC Hospital, near Jalandhar bypass underbridge, Pratap Chowk and bus stand.

There will be 10 seats for the physically challenged.

The CEO-cum-Municipal Commissioner, Ghanshyam Thori, said; “We have floated the tenders for the first two projects under the Smart City mission. For the completion of both projects, contractors will get six months time.” Thori said electronic message boards would be installed which would give real-time weather and pollution information.
