Norway`s TGS announced that it will be conducting a new multi-client 3D seismic survey offshore eastern Canada with fellow seismic survey firm PGS this summer.

The survey will see the collection of some 1,600 square miles of seismic data in the Flemish Pass Basin in Exploration License 1135. This will be carried out by the Ramform Valiant, using PGS`s GeoStreamer technology. The data will be available to clients in the third quarter of 2016.

TGS said the project will provide valuable data in this proven, oil-prone hydrocarbon basin" and will enable exploration companies to image structural and stratigraphic trends.
