The Promotion of Solar Water Pumps component of the Indo-German Energy Programme (PSWP-IGEN) is a bilateral technical co-operation measure between the Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ), Germany and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), India. BMZ has commissioned the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) with the implementation of the IGEN-PSWP module which aims at promoting sustainable use of solar water pumps in view of the Water-Energy-Food nexus.

IGEN-PSWP has initiated a project to survey of 935 solar pumps installed during 2015-2016 in four states to understand operational condition, experience and challenges; and to review state schemes for solar pump promotion in six states to identifying best practices. The module seeks services of an individual bidder who can assist in execution of this project by (1) shadowing enumerators during 15% of the survey and during two focused group discussions (FGDs) and (2) independently organize four FGDs. The assignment requires extensive travel across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
