According to Yıldız, the government will prepare international agreements regarding the nuclear power plant and submit them to Parliament for ratification. “Such agreements are above laws,” the minister said.
Reiterating Turkey’s plans to construct the nuclear power plant in the Akkuyu area of the southern province of Mersin, Yıldız said Turkey was also thinking of building another nuclear plant in the northern province of Sinop.
The Sept. 24, 2008, tender was the fourth one held for Turkey’s first nuclear power plant. The previous three tenders had also failed.
